Terms of Use
These terms govern your access to and use of the Back Mechanic website, educational content, workouts, assessments, and AI-supported features.
Effective October 11, 2026
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By accessing or using Back Mechanic, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to purchase a subscription. A minor may use the educational portions only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. The service is not intended for children under 13.
2. Educational service—not medical care
Back Mechanic provides general education and wellness information. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, physical therapy, prescriptions, emergency monitoring, or individualized medical clearance, and it does not create a clinician-patient relationship. Content and recommendations may not be appropriate for your condition.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning or changing an exercise program, particularly if you have significant pain, a medical condition, a recent injury or operation, are pregnant, or have been advised to restrict activity. Stop an activity that causes severe or rapidly worsening symptoms. Seek urgent in-person care for a possible emergency, including new loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle numbness, rapidly worsening weakness, major trauma, chest pain, or fever with severe back pain.
3. AI-supported features
The AI coach can produce incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate responses. Its output is generated automatically, is not reviewed in real time by a healthcare professional, and must not be relied on for diagnosis, emergencies, medication decisions, or post-operative clearance. Do not submit information that is unnecessary for the question, such as full medical records, government identifiers, or payment-card details.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for activity under your account. Information you provide must be accurate and lawful. Notify us through the support details associated with your account or purchase receipt if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the price and interval displayed immediately before checkout. A monthly subscription renews automatically each month until canceled. You authorize recurring charges by completing checkout. Taxes may apply.
You may cancel at any time through the subscription-management portal available from your account menu. Cancellation stops future renewals, and access ordinarily continues through the end of the paid billing period. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds. Any price change will apply prospectively after reasonable notice.
6. Permitted use
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own noncommercial purposes. You may not copy or redistribute substantial portions of the service, sell access, scrape or systematically extract content, interfere with security or operation, use the service unlawfully, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
7. Content and third-party services
The service contains text, software, designs, media, and other materials protected by intellectual-property laws. Names and materials belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners. The service also relies on third-party providers, including authentication, hosting, analytics, AI, and payment providers. Their services may be subject to separate terms.
8. Availability and disclaimers
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features and may restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, or misuse. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free content, recovery, pain relief, or any particular health or fitness result. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Back Mechanic and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunity, arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability relating to a paid service will not exceed the amount you paid for that service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service or law. We will post the revised date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. Questions or legal notices may be sent using the support contact provided with your account or purchase receipt.
