Spinal Decompression & Traction
What traction and commercial decompression devices can and cannot do, how the evidence reads, and how to evaluate a trial.
Traction applies a pulling force to the spine. Imaging or laboratory measurements may show temporary changes in spacing or pressure while the force is applied, but that does not establish that a disc is “sucked back in,” a nerve is permanently decompressed, or recovery is faster.
